Nancy’s Journal [April 2, 2010]
Ashley & I
“Ashley and I are in high school now, we have been best friends since we started grammar school, I remember perfectly the day we made the promise that nothing and no one could ever break us apart. Since then, we have shared tons of laughs and tears, but we have never regretted meeting each other. Whenever we are apart we feel awkward and we just simply can’t live happy if we don’t have each other. We have many differences but similarities too, but that doesn’t stop us from being the closest friends. As we have grown older, I’ve noticed that she is the sister I never had, and I am just lucky to have her by my side.”
“Aww, you wrote that about me?” Ashley asked.
“Yeah, you know how much you mean to me.” Nancy answered.
“Wow, its been long, we are in 2014 now.” Ashley said.
“I know, and that was in freshmen year.” Nancy responded.
Ashley decided to show Nancy part of her journal where she wrote something about her friendship with her. They were at their senior year, about to graduate. Their friendship hasn’t changed but it is about to.
“Hey, have you seen the new guy?” Tanya asked.
“Who?” Nancy asked.
“The hot handsome senior who transferred today, Ricky.” Tanya answered.
This new guy named Ricky, would be the blessing for Ashley but a nightmare for Nancy, because as soon as Ashley saw Ricky, she completely fell in love with him. They started talking and eventually started dating. Nancy never expected this, but Ashley started to spend a lot of time with him and only talk about her relationship with him. While Nancy was still single and looking for a date for senior prom, Ashley was excited looking for her dress to match with Ricky’s tuxedo.
“Nancy, what are you going to do today?” Ashley questioned.
“Got a date for prom yet?” Ricky added
“Why do you ask? Do you even care?” Nancy responded.
“Nancy, what’s wrong? Are you okay?” Ashley asked.
Nancy just walked away ignoring Ashley’s question, she noticed that she was about to cry. She doesn’t understand what is bothering Nancy, they have never been through a situation similar to this before. She started to analyze and noticed that this have been going on since she started dating Ricky, so she decided to go to Nancy’s house and talk about this problem.
She rang the bell.
“Hey Ashley, haven’t seen you in a while, come on in.” Nancy’s mom said.
“I know, hey Mrs. Stuart do you know what’s going on with Nancy?” Ashley asked.
“I think that you should talk to her about, its not me the one who should tell you.” Nancy’s mom recommended.
So Ashley went to Nancy’s bedroom and entered without knocking, there she was looking at some photographs, pictures of the Ashley and her. Ashley hugged Nancy and told her how much she meant to her, she doesn’t want to loose the wonderful friendship they have. Nancy started tearing and told her how left out she has been feeling since she started dating Ricky.
“Nancy, do you have any idea how I feel towards Ricky? I love him. And you are practically making me choose between him and you, I cant do that, no matter how much you mean to me.” Ashley said.
“I know, I admit that I was a little jealous because you pay more attention to him and we don’t even talk anymore. I felt you really distant.” Nancy revealed.
They hugged and cried a little, they started remembering their past adventures till midnight, Ashley decided to sleep over her house. Ashley still felt bad because her friend doesn’t have any date for prom and they have been planning going together with their dates since they were in grammar school. So Ashley told Ricky to help her look for a date for Nancy, and he told her that he has a friend who like her, so it might work out.
“Hey Nancy, how you been?”
“Good, thanks, I wanted to apologize for ignoring and giving you attitudes since you became Ash’s boyfriend.” Nancy said.
“Its okay, I understand, hey I wanted to introduce you to James.” Ricky said.
Ricky’s friend James asked Nancy to prom and she gladly accepted. Ashley’s and Nancy’s dreams are coming true and they keep on sharing those laughs and tears they’ve been sharing since they were little. They went to prom together and took many pictures that will last for a lifetime.
Nancy’s Journal [ June 23, 2014 ]
“Ashley & I already graduated, we went to prom and had a blast. We are accomplishing our goals and though conflicts may appear we could always get through it. Ashley & I are sisters, sisters till the end.”
